Counseling for Individuals, Couples, and Families

Welcome to Marigold Counseling Services

We often focus so much on seeking happiness, that we forget to make room for the complexity of other emotions that may feel “uncomfortable” or “bad”. So what do we do? We tell ourselves we shouldn’t feel sad or we just need to stop worrying. We might compare ourselves to others who seem to have it all together. In doing so, we feel like failures because those uncomfortable emotions do not just go away and change seems out of reach. This starts a destructive cycle within that can lead to depression, anxiety, low-self esteem, and relational difficulties.

Therapy can help. Through therapy, you will gain insight in to your deeper emotional experience. You will learn tools to challenge maladaptive thought patterns and develop coping skills to thrive in your day to day. Therapy is about finding full acceptance of all parts of yourself through self-awareness and compassion.

Testimonials

“Finding Lynda as a therapist has been like finding a puzzle piece for my mental health journey. She is incredibly patient, kind, and holds space for my experiences in a way no other mental health professional has done in the past. She holds me accountable for my actions and thoughts, and has truly listened to the ways in which I need care, which has been deeply impactful in my life. I started seeing Lynda as a patient during a time when I felt incredibly unfulfilled, and she continues to help me hone my skills so my actions are more in tune with my desires and needs. I cannot recommend her enough as a mental health provider.”

“All my life, I have suffered from anxiety disorder, which has not only caused never-ending mental stress, but which has manifested itself in sometimes debilitating physical maladies for years, ranging from nausea, backache, and migraines to dyspnea (shortness of breath), insomnia and heart palpitations. I had never felt mental therapy would be useful, and I relied for years on medication to calm my anxiety and ease my social fears.  I only wish that I called Lynda sooner. I am not one who is drawn to people easily, so I didn’t know how such a relationship would work.  However, during our first preliminary consultation, we weren’t on the phone for more than 2 minutes before I knew that she would be the perfect fit for me.    It is no exaggeration to say that her work has been transformative, changing my life in ways that I never thought possible. Lynda herself is a calming presence—her voice, expressions, and mannerisms all very comforting. She has been quite adept at exploring and analyzing the deep-seated reasons behind much of my stress, helped me to adjust my outlook on life, seeing things through a different prism, and showed me practicable, working solutions in my everyday life to help me mitigate my ever-present feelings of stress, phobias, and depression. I am a better person today (and in many ways, a different person altogether) largely due to her extraordinary talents.”

“Seeing a therapist was brand new to me when I first began my sessions with Lynda. I had no idea what to expect or how to even select one who was right for me. When I met Lynda, she made me feel so comfortable and I knew that was important. If I was going to open up and heal, I had to do it with someone who I felt safe with, who didn't make me feel like I was bring judged.

Many of us experienced a wide spectrum of emotions during the pandemic. I am so fortunate to have had Lynda to help me unpack everything I was going through. Up until the time I started seeing Lynda, I kept my thoughts, feelings, and concerns to myself. It was incredibly liberating to have someone to talk to on a regular basis who allowed me to explore what I was gong through while giving me the light and courage I needed to continue moving forward. I'm incredibly grateful for my experience with Lynda. I highly recommend her and would reach out to her for support in the future because I'm confident that her care and professionalism would lead me in the right direction.”
